/ˈloʊ.kəl ˈfleɪ.və.rɪsts/ noun
-
Local refers to a specific place, region, and its community.
-
Flavorists comes from flavor. Paired with the suffix -ist, it evokes people who understand, appreciate, and celebrate the unique tastes of a territory.
Together, Local Flavorists expresses locals sharing the flavors they grew up and live with, helping you experience their food culture firsthand.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Local Flavorists is an independently run project, created and managed by me, Dana.
Its mission is to connect you with the real flavors of a destination, by opening the doors to places residents truly love.

MY STORY
Born and raised in Paris, I grew up in a family that valued sharing, generosity, and helping others. I believe this shaped me into someone who deeply cares and finds joy in making people happy.
After studying business, I naturally moved into hospitality, working as a Franchise Relationship Manager to support hotels across Europe.
And like many of you, I love to travel. But wherever I went, I kept facing the same frustration: wanting to taste the real local food, but ending up in not-so-good or touristy places. I often wished I had a local friend to point me to the right spots.
Convinced I could find a solution to that frustration, I left my job to create Local Flavorists: self-guided food tours that connect travelers with passionate artisans, far from the crowds and at your own pace!
WHAT MATTERS
01
Led by those who live here
-
Locals insights : every spot is chosen by someone who genuinely knows the city
-
Recommendations from artisans : each self-guided food tour includes a list of their favorite places to eat and wander.
02
Quality over quantity
-
Local Flavorists offers fewer stops than a classic food tour. We're favoring full-size portions and meaningful places where the craft still matters. The goal is to slow down, enjoy each place fully, and truly soak in the atmosphere.
OUR VALUES
Sharing
We believe that culinary discovery is about more than taste: it’s also about human and cultural connection.
We're sharing flavors, stories and traditions behind each specialty.
Proximity
Local Flavorists is a human-scale project rather than a mass tourism one.
Our tours are intimate and away from the crowds, just like when a local friend quietly shares their favorite spots with you.
Integrity
We make choices that stay true to our values: honoring fair work, sincere relationships, and deep respect for the people who bring local gastronomy to life.
