GET TO KNOW ME

Hello, I'm Dana.

Local Flavorists is an independent project, created and run by me. Its mission is simple: connect you with the real flavours of a place, by opening the doors to the spots residents truly love.

A LETTER FROM DANA

How Local Flavorists began

Paris

I was born and raised in Paris, and grew up in a family where sharing, generosity, and caring for others were deeply valued. I believe this shaped who I am today; someone who finds genuine joy in making people feel good and creating meaningful moments.

After studying business, I naturally found my way into hospitality, working as a Franchise Relationship Manager and supporting hotels across Europe.

And like many of you, I love to travel. Wherever I go, food is always my starting point: a way to understand a place, its people, and its culture. But I often found it surprisingly hard to stumble upon truly authentic spots, the kind locals return to again and again.

I tried different ways of discovering a city through food, yet I rarely found the freedom, intimacy, and depth I was looking for.

That’s what led me to create Local Flavorists: self-guided food tours that connect travelers with passionate artisans, far from the crowds and at your own pace.

Dear fellow traveler,

Dana

I truly hope you enjoy the tour,

WHAT I DO DIFFERENTLY

Not another big-bus food tour

Led by those who live here

Quality over quantity

  • Locals insights: every spot is chosen by someone who genuinely knows the city

  • Recommendations from artisans: each self-guided food tour includes a list of their favorite places to eat and wander.

Local Flavorists offers fewer stops than a classic food tour. I'm favoring full-size portions and meaningful places where the craft still matters. The goal is to slow down, enjoy each place fully, and truly soak in the atmosphere.

VALUES

What guides every choice

Sharing

I believe that culinary discovery is about more than taste: it’s also about human and cultural connection.

I share flavors, stories and traditions behind each specialty.

Proximity

Local Flavorists is a human-scale project rather than a mass tourism one.

My tours are intimate and away from the crowds, just like when a local friend quietly shares their favorite spots with you.

Integrity

I make choices that stay true to my values: honoring fair work, sincere relationships, and deep respect for the people who bring local gastronomy to life.
